Save the Planet

Don't blow it - good planets are hard to find. ~Quoted in Time

And Man created the plastic bag and the tin and aluminum can and the cellophane wrapper and the paper plate, and this was good because Man could then take his automobile and buy all his food in one place and He could save that which was good to eat in the refrigerator and throw away that which had no further use. And soon the earth was covered with plastic bags and aluminum cans and paper plates and disposable bottles and there was nowhere to sit down or walk, and Man shook his head and cried: "Look at this Godawful mess." ~Art Buchwald, 1970

Creek Clean up Day Part 2

After arriving back at our starting point, we rested and dried our wet shoes. It was about 12, so we started eating the sandwiches provided by Whole Foods. After drying out shoes and eating lunch, we got ready to head back to clean the creek. After grabbing new bags and disposing of our old ripped and muddy bags. We headed upstream this time, but we found no trash, and all we found was water and lots of algae. We headed back after unsuccessfully finding any trash. By the time we got back it was 11:45 so, we decided to stop and dry our shoes. The lesson I learned from this was whenever you litter or unconsciously throw something away, know the consequences of doing so. I believe that the overall lesson is don't litter and pollute.

Creek Clean up Day

Today, I went to Creekside Park, to help clean out the creek, I arrived at 9 and met up with my friends. We walked downstream and helped pick trash. As we walked along the creek, we got very wet and muddy. We found alot of weird trash, like a gin and wine bottles, and beer. We walked and picked up trash for about an hour or so, and took a rest. We rested for about 45 min. Then we walked back to dump our trash and get some food.
